Educate 500 Zambian orphans & vulnerable children

2020 is coming to an end, though the unprecedented Covid pandemic hit every continent, we at the Other Side Foundation School for OVC held out against all odds and once again closed the end of the academic year with our annual christmas party for our orphans and vulnerable children. Not forgetting from May to November 2020, we were able to organise Food Relief Aid for over 2,000 young and the aged, all families of our students during this pandemic, failing which many would have perished. 

Our students all from penurious backgrounds, are children like any other who dream of opening presents and having a meal out of the ordinary during this festive season. Unfortunately this has never taken place in their homes and we at The Other Side Foundation recreate this joyous occasion every year at school for them. Please see facebook link below.

During this unprecedented pandemic while most children are doing online schooling, few rural areas have access to good communication transmission and in the cities many simply cannot afford to buy data usage credit due to urban poverty. Although we cannot provide online schooling for our marginalised students from impoverished families, we at The Other Side Foundation have equipped our teachers with 4G mobile phones. This has enabled our teachers to upskill and use this opportune time to attend training both online and in person with less than 10 people in a group. 

Zoom meetings and online training has kept teachers abreast at this modest community school. While most community schools are not functional, at The Other Side Foundation School for OVC, teaching and support staff are still paid their full salary, they attend online training and carry on upskilling. Our donors have made this possible, thank you.
