10th report on Scholarships for Needy Students

Dear Friends.

Thank you for your donations and support. With your support, SHD has managed to raise $30,159 to help the needy students and also the needy families (who suffered during the pandemic).

During the last quarter, the educational institutions remained closed all over the country due to the pandemic. The lock down by the Government to save people from the COVID-19 outbreak, took place in March , 2020 and led to the closure of all major businesses in the country. The schools , colleges and universities were reopened in September 2020 after taking due measures to protect the students .

Now as the children have started going to school after a long break of 7 months. SHD has helped 30 students of St. Peter School Toba Tek Singh to get their school uniforms, books and stationart to continue their education. These kids belong to extremely poor families and did not have proper kits to rejoin the school. Father Simon (Chairperson SHD) and Mr Ayub (Executive Secretary SHD) along with his team, distributed free books to the students.

The students are happy to rejoin the school after getting the support from SHD. Their parents are happy too. One of the parents expressed that " we were worried , because the COVID -19 took away our jobs from us . We were also worried about our kids as it looked that they wont be able to continue their education. We want to thank SHD for their support and for helping them to continue their education".

Many students have found new hope for continuing their education through this project. We would like to request all our donors to keep supporting.
