Meet NGU Scholarship Alumni!

By Sarah Pita | Development Director, Nehemiah Gateway USA

Hallelujah, Enock, and Markus-- college friends!
Hallelujah, Enock, and Markus-- college friends!

Dear Friends—

This summer, my colleague Vanessa met with several graduates of the Nehemiah Gateway University (NGU) bachelor’s program in Uganda and Tanzania. We thought you would enjoy hearing a little bit about what they are doing, seven months after graduation.

Juliet, who wrote her thesis about menstrual health in Uganda, is working for Days For Girls Uganda as their Communications Coordinator. Days for Girls produces low-cost reusable sanitary napkins and sells them to businesses, organizations, or individuals, helping to solve the problem of girls dropping out of school due to taboos around menstruation. https://www.daysforgirls.org/

Hallelujah  is working for Empower Limited in Tanzania. You can watch Hallelujah talking about how NGU has helped him in the video clip below.

Hallelujah’s brother, Enock, is using his business degree to work for Coca Cola in Tanzania in their finance department.

Markus, who grew up in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is now Nehemiah Gateway’s local coordinator and liaison in Tanzania. He is also working with his sister, Tina, who runs the Agape Children's Village in Morogoro. The orphanage is currently home to 30 orphans, and they are growing the educational offerings there as the orphans themselves grow!

Your support is helping future leaders like Juliet, Hallelujah, Enock, and Markus to gain the skills they need to help people in their home countries.

With gratitude,

Sarah
