Twenty happy smiley faces were the highlight of 17th July 2021 as we distributed foodstuffs to 20 children living with HIV. Being in the second lockdown as a country, parents and guardians including orphanages and other child-care organisations found it harder to feed their families on a balanced diet. “Our funding has dwindled as our donors also struggle to keep afloat,” Mr Kagyezi John the Director of Seed Faith Ministries Uganda commented. The organisation cares for children living with HIV. We partnered with them to meet our target group.
Using the funds that we raised through GlobalGiving, the children received corn flour, cooking oil, beans, silverfish, peanut butter, sugar, and soya porridge to supplement their diet. Teddy who enjoys cornmeal bread with silverfish as her favourite meal was very happy. “Tonight, I will enjoy some silverfish, I can’t wait to get home,” Teddy confessed with a wide smile after receiving her foodstuff. Thank you for bring such joy to Teddy and 19 others.
Mr Kamya Jackson the Kikandwa sub-county chairperson shared in this joy. “Covid-19 has worsened the situation; it is heart-breaking seeing the families struggle to have meals. I am thankful to PaCT and her partners for this project. I wish that all the families in the sub-county could receive the same relief,” Mr Kamya shared in a short speech. It is indeed the small things that make a difference and make life memorable. Thanks to GlobalGiving and all our donors for supporting us. Thank you, thank you, indeed.
