Dear Friend
We can’t believe that we are already heading towards the end of February! This year has certainly started off with a meaningful and busy pace for the Footprints 4 Sam Team!
December 2024 was a month of giving, gratitude and joy as we continued our tradition of celebrating the incredible healthcare professionals at Rahima Moosa Mother & Child Hospital. Our annual Footprints 4 Sam Pamper Day was once again a highlight, bringing much-needed moments of relaxation to doctors, nurses and hospital staff, and their smiles, laughter and excitement made the day truly special.
We host this event every year to remind healthcare professionals that they truly matter, and to thank them for their dedication and caring for critically and chronically ill children and their families. Our Pamper Day is not just about pampering, it’s about reinforcing the importance of self-care and mental wellness in a high-stress environment.
Beyond the hospital walls, we also ensured that patient families felt the warmth of the season through our Super Sam Hero Bucket Initiative. One hundred food buckets and and sixty toiletry buckets brought relief and joy to families at Rahima Moosa, who face unimaginable challenges, and these buckets allowed them to take something special home during the festive season.
This year we also delivered sixty buckets to Queen Nandi Regional Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal. It was heartwarming to see these care packages included in Christmas celebrations at the hospitals, spreading kindness and dignity to those who need it most.
As part of our Beautiful Memories initiative, we have introduced Rainbow Days, a deeply heartfelt addition that gives terminally ill mothers the chance to step away from the hospital ward and spend precious, uninterrupted time with their loved ones.
We recently hosted two of these special days for two remarkable women at Rahima Moosa, creating a space where they could simply be with their families, share laughter and make memories that will be cherished. In the face of immense difficulty, these moments of love, connection and togetherness become a gift, one that lingers in the hearts of those left behind.
So, as you can see, it’s been a busy time at Rahima Moosa, where lives have been touched. None of this would be possible without your generosity and support and it is because of you that we are able to bring hope, comfort, dignity and moments of joy to those who need it most.
We are deeply grateful to have you as part of our journey and remain committed to making footprints of change together.
Warmest regards
Jo Giles
