Dear friend
I can’t believe that we are heading into the last few months of 2024!
I wanted to share some exciting news with you about our Angels 4 Sam project that is very close to our hearts, and one that is core to the services we provide to Rahima Moosa Mother & Child Hospital (RMMCH). The Angels 4 Sam programme is dedicated to preserving our beloved Sam’s legacy and making a real difference for children facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and the incredible healthcare workers who support them at RMMCH.
Our goal is simple but powerful: to bring compassion, hope, dignity and respect to every corner of the hospital. Through Angels 4 Sam, volunteers from all walks of life come together with a shared commitment to uplift and encourage, one footprint at a time.
Recently, we had the joy of welcoming a group of enthusiastic young students from HeronBridge College who joined as Angels 4 Sam at Rahima Moosa for their community service. Their energy and compassion were a gift to the pediatric wards, where they sorted toys, read stories, played games, and even helped the nurses feed the tiniest of patients. These small, thoughtful gestures brought much-needed comfort and warmth to both the children and their families.
We were also very blessed to have an amazing young lady from the USA with us who spent part of her summer break with us, making a huge difference in the lives of the young patients at RMMCH.
As this is still a relatively new programme, we’re excited about its potential to grow it further in the hospital. In the coming months, we’ll be reaching out to retired teachers and community members who’d like to share their skills and compassion. For students, we’re planning creative projects like gathering gently used toys, setting up DIY hospital space makeovers, and even pitching in with maintenance tasks. And, of course, they’ll bring their own talents—be it storytelling, singing, or something as simple as offering a listening ear—to brighten the days of young patients.
None of this would be possible without you. Your support is the reason we can bring these comforting connections to children who need them most. With your help, we can continue to grow the Angels 4 Sam programme at RMMCH into a lasting legacy of care and compassion, honouring Sam’s memory by spreading hope in the lives of so many.
Thank you for believing in this vision with us and for helping us bring humanity back to healthcare. Here’s to a future filled with kindness on both sides of the stethoscope.
Warm regards
