The National Park Service (NPS) has put the lives of about 200 beloved cats in grave danger. They are planning a heartless mass killing of a community of cats living peacefully in Puerto Rico.
Tell NPS: Stop the Cat-Killing Plan Now!
In late 2023, NPS unveiled a horrific scheme to tear 200 cats away from their home in San Juan's historic district, calling them a "nuisance."
NPS set an impossibly tight deadline for a local group to remove all the cats, virtually guaranteeing failure. If the deadline is not met, NPS will bring a "removal agency" to remove and kill the cats.
Local residents, who have cared for these cats for generations, have rallied against this cruel plan.
Save a Gato, a local organization, has been working tirelessly for nearly 20 years to care for the cat population at the San Juan National Historic Site, using TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) and adoption. Volunteers feed the cats, some of whom are too feral to catch.

While Alley Cat Allies, a nonprofit based in Maryland, has temporarily halted the plan through legal action, the threat still remains. These cats need your help to stop this brutal, senseless plan permanently.
