Hello!
This last quarter, we had some great news for our project! We have managed to increase the total habitat area for the axolotls.
On one hand, we built a new shelter at the conservation center, along with new tanks for breeding and raising juvenile specimens. The shelter provides additional tanks and workspace, allowing us to process all of our water samples on-site. This is a huge step forward!
On the other hand, we have begun working on a 3-hectare lake for the axolotls. Our first step in this area is to establish natural ponds with native vegetation. This is a monumental task, as wetlands are challenging environments for both people and tools. However, thanks to the many volunteers who have joined us, these tasks have become much more manageable.
This season, your donations went directly toward acquiring materials and tools that enabled us to build the shelter, work on the natural ponds, and set up the new tanks. We were also able to purchase furniture to better protect our laboratory equipment.
None of this would have been possible without your generosity. We are deeply grateful for your support, which allows us to continue protecting axolotls and their habitat. Thank you for being a part of this mission!
