HELP IRAQI CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
June 2023
This project is very important to ICHope, because without our intervention these children would be undiagnosed, untreated, and incapable of living productive lives. Due to our donors’ support, we can continue to serve our beloved Iraqi children with mental health issues and other disabilities.
ICHOPE advocates for the rights and interests of children with autism spectrum disorder and other disabilities, both physical and emotional. We endeavor to ensure that all children can access educational services appropriate to their unique needs. We do this by providing Early Intervention Services to include an assessment by a specialist, running a program for children without access to educational services, facilitating parent support groups, working with local education and health services programs, providing training, and accessing appropriate information on all disabilities.
So far, we have served 34 children who receive services at two treatment centers. These children have shown improvement through their hard work. They enjoy their time at these centers, and day after day their ability to communicate with staff improves. The children are happy with big smiles when they enter the center.
We also have five volunteers to support these children's families. We will continue helping these children and their families to make sure they continue to receive the proper treatment and continue to work on learning day after day.
