The era of Global Boiling has arrived, as millions of people battle record heat waves in North America and Europe. Especially vulnerable are those forced to work outside in the extreme heat. Regardless, deforestation continues to accelerate, with the echo of chainsaws that can be heard as this piece of note is being typed.
In Sri Lanka, Rainforest Protectors Trust is urgently in need of $8,000 to protect 6 acres of pristine rainforest from getting clear-cut. The 6 acres directly adjoin Sinharaja World Heritage Rainforest to the South as well as another 10 acres purchased and protected by Rainforest Protectors Trust to the East. Therefore, saving this piece of tropical rainforest is crucial to ensure the success of creating a contiguous protected buffer zone. We have raised 10% of the needed funds so far and looking for donors who can help us save this tract of forest within the next couple of months.
