As you may have seen, Niger’s democratically elected president was overthrown by elements of the military in late July. At that time, Niger’s borders and air space was closed and our on-the-ground team members began to shelter in place out of an abundance of caution. In the months since, things have stabilized somewhat and while the president remains imprisoned, restrictions have loosened, so our partners in the field have once again begun to receive supplies and return to normal working conditions.
In the 15 years that we have been drilling wells in Niger, our work has continued through coups, political unrest, and regime changes, and we are confident that regardless of the outcome of the current situation, drilling will continue. We remain focused on our mission of saving safe lives with safe water, now more than ever.
The included photos are of tap stands that were completed prior to the coup.
Thank you, as always for your support!
