We hope that this finds you well and adapting as best you can to our strange new reality. The world has drastically changed since our last report to you, and as it has most everyrthing else in the wold, the pandemic has impacted our work.
While Niger has, thus far, had fewer than 100 coronavius-related deaths, the ripple effects of the global crisis are being felt across the country as borders close and international humanitarian oganizations put their work on hold. Our own partners on the ground have struggled to get replacement parts for a drilling rig in need of repair due to international shipping restrictions.
Despite all of the challenges they have faced, our World Vision partners have managed to continue drilling, bringing safe, clean water to rural villages at a time when it is moe essential than ever. Attached are photos of women and girls accessing water at wells that we have drilled in recent months.
