Greetings from the Rude Ranch Sanctuary,
Happy to report that Firefly, Dexter, Callie, and Carey Grant are all happy to hear the birds chirping and see the sunshine pouring through the windows now that Spring is here.
All are doing well, we are happy to report, but we have noticed that do not like the same kind of wet cat food every day. We have had to switch out the type every other day as noses are being upturned. My goodness, such demands!
The cats are getting very excited to see the new clinic being built over in Crofton, where one day they may go visit. We will be sure to share pictures with you and them as the rebuild project moves towards its inevitable end.
Are you interest in volunteering at Rude Ranch or at our clinic, Spay Spa & Neuter Nook? Let us know.
Dear Friend,

March 2025 Low-Income Report
By Erik D. Andrulis | President and Executive Director
Happy Spring! We are gearing up to submit the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) Spay and Neuter Grants Program for an 8th year of funding.
We are happy to announce that we helped two low-income families in the last quarter with emergency surgeries at low or no cost. Both were pyometra surgeries, a dangerous event where the uterine lining becomes infected and can cause kidney damage, sepsis, and even death. Happy to report both animals are doing well!
We continue to help as many low- and no-income individuals in Anne Arundel County that are covered by our grant. In the second quarter of this year, from November 1, 2024 to February 28, 2024, Glen Burnie, MD and Brooklyn Park, MD, we have performed a total of 78 surgeries, all FREE.
Of those surgeries, here is the breakdown:
Dogs: 4; 2 neuters, 2 spays
Cats: 74; 24 neuters, 50 spays
This means we have saved low- or no-income families and households almost $5,000!
Generous funding to support this project comes from donors like you, contributors at our spay/neuter clinic, Spay Spa & Neuter Nook, and from the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) Spay and Neuter Grants Program.
If you would like to help us help more animals, and help the neediest of people - the ones who lack the resources to give their pets the care they need - please share our project with like-minded animal advocates on social media, email, or text. This is especially important right now, as Giving Tuesday approaches.

Erik
