Four orphaned cubs arrived at AMP Libearty sanctuary in Romania, ready to start new lives.
Peter and Bibi were only eight-months-old when they were discovered walking throughthe town of Sovata, Mures county. The brother and sister were both desperate for food and water. Authorities decided they were too old to be taken to a special centre and reintroduced into the wild
Seven-month-old Hugh was also found orphaned, this time near the houses in Predeal, Brasov county. Being small and totally alone, surviving in the forest would have been impossible for the cub, and like Peter and Bibi, he was too old to be transferred to a rehabilitation centre.
One month later, Ghitte was spotted crying for her missing mother at the edge of a forest in Mures county. The eight-month-old female was desperately hungry and thirsty. Like the three other orphans, Ghitte was far too young to face the dangers of the forest alone without her mother to protect her.
Thankfully, Ghitte, Hugh, Peter and Bibi are now protected by AMP Libearty Sanctuary, where they are able to enjoy nature, proper food and each other’s company.
