Rohingya Refugee Relief Fund

Thank you for your generous contribution to the Rohingya Refugee Relief Fund. Donations to this GlobalGiving fund continue to make a difference for Rohingya as they continue to be displaced and face violence and natural hazards across several countries. 

Since our last update, we made four emergency grants to high-impact and community-led nonprofit organizations, all thanks to your support.  Our partner organizations are working with Rohingya communities in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar. These partners are working hard to provide support to Rohingya in a way that centers their urgent needs and helps address the trauma they’ve endured.

Here is a short description of some of the critical work you’ve supported:  

• Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN)is partnering with Rohingya and refugee-led organizations in Bangladesh and Myanmar, supporting communities who often have limited access to resources. The APRRN will assess urgent needs toward better outcomes for mental health and psychosocial support, food security, and protection for Rohingya. 

• Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) is providing education services for Rohingya children in Malaysia. The organization is also delivering health services to Rohingya—a critical offering as many refugees do not have the funds for the treatments nor the legal status in Malaysia to access essential care. MRA additionally provides a critical coordination service for asylum-seekers arriving in Malaysia who have taken dangerous journeys by sea. 

• Yayasan Dompet Dhuafa Republika is providing nutritious meals, hygiene kits, medical care, and emergency aid to Rohingya across Indonesia. This includes in Aceh, where boats of Rohingya refugees continue to arrive from camps in Bangladesh and elsewhere, facing discrimination and violence upon arrival. 

• Mobile Mini Circus for Children is training youth teams who carry out regular psychosocial, entertainment, and educational workshops, as well as performances for thousands of refugee children across Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. These workshops bring much-needed psychosocial care to children who are living in protracted refugeehood and deteriorating conditions.
