ENVIRONMENTAL WORKSHOPS AND NURSERY (GARDEN CENTER) RESTORATION REPORT
Our main goal with the Environmental Workshops is to inspire young people and children aged 6 to 14, fostering in them a deep passion for the environment. This initiative has had a significant impact, capturing the attention and participation of El Rosario School, who decided to join CorpoAyapel to collaborate in the care of our garden center.
The interest aroused among the 11th grade students is particularly noteworthy. Since they are in the final stage of high school and must fulfill social service hours, their valuable contribution has focused on the restoration and beautification of our garden center, a landmark space in our Community Center that houses native species and plays a crucial role in environmental restoration. The change has been remarkable, significantly transforming the appearance of this space.
The positive impact generated is reflected in the incorporation of new children into our Workshops during 2024 and in the existence of a group of children on the waiting list from another educational institution, highlighting the ongoing success and relevance of our initiative. The response received has been extraordinary, showing a persistent interest in caring for the environment.
This year, we have already started our educational environmental workshops. Our local alliances not only seek to certify social service hours but also to motivate students to sponsor native shrub species, thus contributing to the restoration of areas affected by floods near the Wetland. We are organizing environmental days with volunteers to initiate the restoration.
