YFCA begins implementing its activities by restoring the two classrooms in Al-Ansar School in Al-Quoz camp.This intervention is a commitment for maintenance at the school rehab sites which will allow to keep the two classrooms in top working condition.
Repair included rehabilitation of two unready classrooms at the targeted school based on the needs. Internal plastering, cement, wall paint has been done after studying and working on the needs and the quantities for the two targeted classrooms.
YFCA has been starting the rehabilitation work after the coordination of Education Office and Education Cluster in Marib city. The number of the students in the school is 204 Students, 120 males and 84 females. Most of them displaced from Al Hudaydah governorate in western of Yemen; they go to the school where it is located in Al Rumailah or AlQuoz camp, which contains 500 families.
Al-Ansar is an elementary school, from the first grade to the sixth grade. The first grade is three sections, while the rest are only one section. Recently, 13 classrooms were built and only five equipped, while the rest are not qualified and need rehabilitation and furnishing.
YFCA still working to complete the restoration and will finish within three weeks, in the during coming days YFCA is planning to prepare fans, windows, doors, whiteboards and the air condition. The rehabilitated classrooms will enable the male and female students to continue their educational process in an appropriate environment.
The goal is to provide the IDPs students males and females with safe, comfortable and clean learning environment and complete with the resources needed to learn and advance in their studies.
