This project will help to restore two devastated classrooms of 200 students in the Marib city in the northwest of Yemen by providing restoration, double chairs other teaching/learning materials. Some students bring their own chairs from home to sit on which adds gravely to their impoverishment and destitution. As students are taught in wrecked wet classrooms, number of students- especially girls- are dropped out as they frequently get sick because of the unhealthy environment in the classes.
For the protracted war between the warring parties in Yemen, Schools have been bombed, damaged, destroyed or occupied by IDPs. Schools were deprived from any state's financial aid because of the divided two governments and limitation of state budget so neither educational materials provided nor affected schools were restored for school in the country. The consequences of being out of school is a threat to life for these children as they become victims of all forms of violation and exploitation.
YFCA will provide double school desks to the unprivileged students along with rehabilitation works on the classes. Teaching kits (for teachers) and learning kits (for students) will be provided to ensure minimizing students' dropout.
The project will assist 200 students to carry on their education allowing them ,and their impoverished families, to rise out of poverty because being out of school is a threat to life for these children as they become victims of all forms of violation and exploitation.
