Nepal is in Lock-down since the 23rth of March. The survivors have to stay inside the home. Fortunately, the home is well equipped for useful educational in-house activities. The girls focus for example on training their computer skills and receive life-skills training. Furthermore, the girls are doing yoga, study, and dance.
All the necessary food, medicine, and other related materials were stored three months back so the girls can eat and stay safe inside the home. At the beginning of the lockdown, the girls were very anxious because of the restriction of mobility outside. Before the lockdown, they were going to school, to vocational training, swimming, hiking training, and meeting with different people. Due to the stringent measures, they couldn't go outside. The counselor helped them cope with this. The girls started to understand it better and started to engage in in-house activities.
They receive online classes and they are able to continue their education. The teachers are motivating the girls to study from home so that when the lock-down will be over, it won't be very hard for them to catch up. Now they understand the importance of technology so they are improving their computer skills.
It is great to witness the resilience and strength of the survivors during these times. One of the residential staff said: "I am working in this home for more than four years, I witness different things now, the girls became very creative and exploring new things also."
