Project Report | Jul 30, 2019
From survivor to Change maker!

By Shakti Samuha | partner organization

Vocational Training : Tailoring
Vocational Training : Tailoring

Reporting Period: January - July 2019

  • All survivors staying at Half Way Home receive tutoring in order to improve their future chances. They also receive legal support, as Free a Girl and her partner organization want to fight impunity and realize justice for the survivors.
  • 5 survivors staying at Half Way Home have started the process of reintegration, as they are old enough. They receive vocational training. 4 girls are following tailoring classes and one girl is taking bakery classes.
  • Shakti Samuha is an organization founded by survivors of commercial sexual exploitation. During the first six months of 2019, one survivor received employment at Shakti Samuha, so now she is supporting the girls staying at Half Way Home. She entered Half Way Home as a survivor, now she is a Change Maker! Free a Girl is impressed by her strength and thankful for your donations.
  • 5 other survivors are already reintegrated with their families and friends. After visiting their former communities and their families were invited at the organization, Shakti Samuha realized that their communities are safe. Awareness is raised in the communities about the risks and the women still receive aftercare, in order to prevent revictimization.
  • During consultation meetings with the survivors, they expressed that they feel safe at Half Way Home.
