More than a year after suffering both an earthquake and a tsunami, the Central Sulawesi region of Indonesia is still struggling to recover. Though they are currently facing a long dry season, significantly impacting the livelihoods of local communities, they remain resilient.
Thanks to your help, we have been able to support local communities in Sulawesi in forming 12 groups with over 300 families, dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives,. In the Donggala district, we are helping people make a living in new and sustainable ways, including processing coconut fruit into coconut oil and charcoal shell in Rano village.
Women in Sulawesi have been leaders during this time. Through sustained work with local communities, two Women-Friendly Spaces have been established and continue to operate, giving more than 400 women a community of mutual support, respect, and empowerment.
When women are empowered, the entire community is empowered. Thank you for ensuring that women’s expertise and leadership are valued.
