Thank you for helping us to rescue victims of HT!!

By Jorge de Ory Murga | Head of International Alliances Department

This is the story of 2 young girls who were being sexually exploited. The story may be hard to tell, because it is a story of suffering.

There is Rupali, divorced and mother to a son. After the divorce, she fell in love with a man, who forced her to become a sex worker. At that moment, Rupali saw no alternative, she was blind in love. And the economic needs were more than evident. That was the beginning, later she herself helped him get more women.

And there is Vinita who is 24 years old. She met Rupali in a desperate situation, since her family’s financial situation was dire and she couldn’t get a job. With promises of greatness and easy money, Rupali convinced Vinita to go into sex work.

But the story turned into a happy ending, when our Rescue team was informed about their situation. In a very discreet manner, we located the place where the events were taking place. At the same time, we notified the Police Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and started planning the rescue operation together.

So, we were able to carry out the operation and managed to free the two girls and arrest the alleged trafficker. in his cell phone, the police found numerous photos of sexually exploited girls and his contacts, and he has been immediately sent to prison to await trial.

The two rescued girls were placed at the disposal of social services and after three weeks of review and rehabilitation, they were transferred to their families.

This is a first step for them to take back the control of their lives. They will be able to aspire to fend for themselves and, once recovered from their wounds, earn a living by their own means. In short, they will be able to recover a dignified life in freedom.
