CRESCA - November

CRESCA, the animal rescue center, is our current primary emphasis on community health and welfare.

 Animal Rescue Center- CRESCA In addition to community outreach, maintenance, cleaning, feeding, and care is given to all animals resident at the facility each month. The facility receives stray and injured animals from local authorities and occasionally from community members.

In addition, MMB, the local mine, has begun supporting the rescue facility once again, and bringing strays there as necessary.

•  Housekeeping and maintenance of the facility occurred as usual.
• Feeding, watering, and veterinary care were given to all residents of the facility. 
• Ivermectin was applied to all pet residents by our veterinarian Uriel Valdez for the control of fleas and ticks
• Our volunteer veterinarian, Adrian Beltran, arrived to walk dogs several times in October
• With the help of the municipal police, a dog was rescued from a student pensione.
• Relations were established with a person in the community that has rescued 16 dogs and has them in his house; we are helping his by transporting the animals to be sterilized, the procedure, and recuperating at CRESCA before being returned to his home
• We visited the rescue center in Vizcaino that has been started by some community young people; they have about 60 animals there and we donated some dogfood and exchanged experiences
• Our rescue center provided cremation services for six deceased pets during the month (750 MXP each)
• Two refuges were constructed in the kennels in anticipation of winter conditions
• A representative of the Secretariat of Health visited CRESCA and vaccinated all dogs agains rabies
