Summer 2024 Uganda Refurb Wells Interim Report

By Tom Webber | U.S. Development Director

Capacity building is about empowering an NGO to be more effective in its work, ensuring sustainability and greater impact on the communities it serves. Capacity building is an important aspect of BridgIT’s work in Uganda, which is why Wendy Tisdell, BridgIT’s Founding Director, takes regular trips to work with our implementing partners to enhance the relationship between the nonprofits. This includes:

-       Training & Development to provide staff with skills and knowledge to enhance the offering

-       Organizational Strengthening to improve internal systems, structures and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

-       Network Development to expand reach through collaboration

-       Monitoring and Evaluation to assess program impact

-       Leadership Development to guide teams and projects effectively

Capacity building includes implementing BridgIT’s Theory of Change project to help its partners adopt a meaningful set of policies, from Human Rights to Privacy to Whistleblowing. In addition, this work includes working together to enhance financial systems and reporting. BridgIT will continue to work with its Ugandan partner, Suubi Community Projects Uganda, to build capacity to both grow its ability to serve beneficiaries and to provide efficiency and effectiveness for funders.

Thank you so much to our generous donors who make these projects possible.
