#GivingTuesday is a BIG fundraising day for BridgIT Water Foundation. BridgIT's goal is to raise $25,000 to bring potable water to about 15,000 people.
This year GlobalGiving will "Move a Million" by providing US$1.2 Million in incentives to its nonprofit partners that receive online donations:
WHEN: Between 19:00:00 on November 27th - 18:59:59 Eastern Standard Time on November 28th.
DETAILS: Donations up to US$2,500 per unique donor per organization will be eligible to receive incentive funds, and incentive funds will be allocated to each organization based on their percentage of all funds raised during the #GivingTuesday event.
HOW: BridgIT strongly encourages its generous supporters to donate online to its projects on GlobalGiving on #GivingTuesday by clicking on the links below:
1. Refurbishing Water Wells Saves Lives in Uganda, Project #47702, provides safe, clean water to rural Ugandan villagers whose wells have fallen into disrepair. This project is extremely cost-effective because an average of 925 people benefit from each refurb, which cost US$1,500. This means sustainable water is provided at US$1.62/person.
2. India Water Crisis Well Refurbishment Program, Projects #55561, is another very cost-effective project providing safe, clean water to rural Dalit people in Andhra Pradesh India. An average of 814 villagers benefit from each refurb at a cost of about US$1.54/person.
3. Save Wildlife, Save People w/ Conservation Wells, Project #58312, provides funds needed to refurbish broken water wells in rural Malawi, near the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. This project promotes wildlife conservation because the villagers essentially trade wildlife protection and conservation for safe, clean water.
Please participate in BridgIT's #GivingTuesday fundraiser on GlobalGiving this Tuesday, November 28, EST, so we can benefit from the financial incentives offered by GlobalGiving.
BridgIT is pleased to announce that the Mukono District water wells project is complete, and we are now working in the adjacent Kayunga District. There are so many villages there that need help in the water crisis, so we will continue to work hard to raise funds and refurbish broken wells in the Kayunga District.
Thank you.
