During the past quarter, BridgIT Water Foundation was able to refurbish 2 additional water wells, serving 1,658 villagers in the Mukono District of Central Uganda. Thank you so much to our generous supporter for allowing us to complete these projects and bring the basic human right of potable water to these people.
Recently BridgIT Water Foundation reached 2 major milestones: it completed its 500th unique project worldwide, and it served its 1 millionth beneficiary. It turns out that 1 million of anything is a lot, and providing safe, clean water to 1 million people is incredible. Under the leadership of Founding Director, Wendy Tisdell, the all-volunteer BWF has worked tirelessly to serve its communities in Uganda, Andhra Pradesh, India, Nepal, Malawi, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana, Jamaica, and Bolivia.
Testimonials from beneficiaries have been published in these reports, in BWF's Annual Reports, on BridgIT's Facebook page, the BWF YouTube channel, in the BWF Newsletter, and elsewhere. Beneficiaries are universally grateful. Mrs. R from Andhra Pradesh expressed her appreciation for the well in her village:
"We are a poor family. My husband got labour work frequently but not regularly. In case the water is contaminated, we do not have capacity to undergo appropriate medical care. Now we are drinking clean water from the bore-well supplied by BridgIT. Family members and the entire village are very happy."
BridgIT plans to continue this work, and has set the ambitious goal of serving a total of 1.5 million beneficiaries by the end of 2024. Reaching this goal will be challenging, but the need is so great, and so many people are literally begging BridgIT for new and refurbished water wells that we are compelled to work hard to meet their water needs. Thank you to our supporters, and please help us meet this goal through your philanthropy.
