The first half of 2021 has been great for BridgIT Water Foundation's Uganda Refurb Well Project. BridgIT has been able to refurbish 9 wells so far, with funding for another 2 wells in the bank, and these should be completed soon. The generosity of our philanthropic supporters is truly phenomenal. Thank you so much for supporting this project, which allows us to bring safe, clean water to about 12,000 people so far this year.
Please read the attached Completion Report from our implementing partner, Suubi Community Projects Uganda, for the first 9 refurb wells in 2021 in the following villages: Namuganga West, Lukyamu, Kiteredde, Kiwafu, Bukasa 1, Kisoga, Kabiribiri, Bukasu 2, Kasana.
The crowdfunding campaign's project description and these reports have characterized the improvements in the lives of refurb well beneficiaries. Women and children, who are tasked with the drudgery of collecting domestic water, recapture hours each day that can be spent more productively in work and school. Plus they avoid the wear and tear on their bodies from lugging heavy water containers for miles. Giving these Ugandan villagers the gift of the basic human right of potable water changes their lives immeasurably.
BridgIT is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, so the only compensation that Founding Director Wendy Tisdell and her team receive is the satisfaction of improving the lives of project beneficiaries in the developing world. We hope that this sense of satisfaction is shared by our supporters, because you are the ones that make these interventions possible.
The Australian fiscal year ends on June 30th, and we hope to raise enough funding to build at least 6 more refurb wells this month. If you can, please contribute to this campaign so we can refurbish more wells in the Mukono District of Central Uganda.
Thank you so much for supporting the BridgIT Water Foundation.
