The BridgIT Water Foundation is pleased that this GlobalGiving crowdfunding campaign has raised enough money in its initial period to complete the Kasokoso Village water well refurbishment project. This project has revitalized an aging and broken government well, and now provides fresh, clean water to 1,500 people living in and around Kasokoso Village.
Please read through the comprehensive Kasokoso Village Well - Final Report and Acquittal document, attached. This report was prepared by our excellent in-country implementing partner, Suubi Community Projects Uganda, and provides a detailed explanation of the water issues facing these rural Ugandans and discusses how this well has greatly improved their lives. For example, before this intervention, women and children had to walk about 3 kilometers to fetch water from a contaminated water source, and then haul the heavy loads 3 km back to their homes. Besides greatly reducing the drudgery associated with this daily chore, the clean well water greatly improves people's health because they are no longer battling water borne pathogens in the contaminated water.
Thank you to all contributors to this valuable water project. This is an ongoing crowdfunding campaign, so please continue to support BridgIT's efforts to refurbish water wells in the Mukono District of Uganda. Please share this crowdfunding campaign with your family and friends so BridgIT can do more for these people.
There are literally thousands of broken water wells that need to be refurbished with relatively inexpensive hardware. At a cost of less than US$1.00/person, BridgIT can completely change and improve the lives of about 1,500 per refurb well. Imagine your life if you had to walk 3 km to fetch dirty water for your family - every day - and then carry the heavy water containers 3 km back to your home. Then imagine that for only $1,500, you can completely change the lives of 1,500 people by funding a refurb well.
Thank you for supporting the BridgIT Water Project's Uganda Refurb Well Crowdfunding Campaign.
