The main source of income for Mantanani locals is tourism. As a result, a series of training were given to the locals on Mantanani Island to improve their skills which are required in tourism industry. Some of the training given were basic English which focused on communication skills, food handling which focused on clean and safe food preparation, finance which focused on financial management and saving techniques, and basic computer which focused on Microsoft software and graphic design and video editing.
It is hoped that these skills and knowledge will enable Mantanani locals to better market and promote ecotourism on the island, as well as providing good hospitality and value-added tourism to their customers.
