We are very thankful to you and all other donors for supporting us towards promotion of safe, clean and sustainable mobility in Uganda for improved public health and environmental protection.
This part of our Autosafety - Uganda program is making progress amidst resource constraints.
In the last quarter we were able to finalize acquisition of an advanced 5-gas stationery vehicle emissions tester for data collection; thanks to the Margaret Hayman Charitable Trust that generously stood with us in the shipment and clearence process plus the Houston Uganda Community and many other individuals from different countries overseas that stepped in during the initial steps of inspecting and collecting from the Donor's property manager's premises, the lengthy storage within USA among other kinds of technical support.
We are expecting to have some grant funding that will enable us setup and operationalize the equipment and acquisition of other essentials for the data collection workstream to run at full scale for the next 6 - 12 months. Even with a grant, we still need to fundraise with GlobalGiving to meet administrative costs among other needs.
Leveraging our existing partnership with Makerere univeristy plus collaboration with the ministry of works and transport among other stakeholders, we participated in 2 major events including the outcome harvest workshop that gave us a glimpse of the impact we are already making in society towards enabling clean air access for all in our cities, plus the 3-day peer learning and knowledge exchange workshop that brought together the communities of practice from over 15 cities in Africa with a focus on air quality management in Africa.
