Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative improving the biodiversity of our upland areas. The main problem with farmers is that they would not like to plant trees with low economic value thereby hindering biodiversity improvement. Utilization too of trees far exceeds planting and there is indeed a need to turn this situation to positive and encourage farmers to at least grow in 15-20% of their lands with trees. We focused our attention during this period to convincing farmers and promoting tree growing and using trees with high economic value rather than asking farmers to plant because of biodiversity improvement which they have difficulty understanding. They understand more approach that meet their immediate needs like the need for food supply. Towards this end we started establishing a seedling nursery with 30,000 seedling capacity. Again thank you very much for your help.
Very sincerely yours,
Jed Christian Sayre
