lilianas Testimony

By Hospital Pablo Tobon Uribe | Hospital Pablo Tobon Uribe

Liliana is a 48 year old woman who, in June 2023, received news that changed her
path: she was diagnosed with cancer, specifically anorectal squamous cell carcinoma.
Dealing with the uncertainty and fear this news entails, Liliana María made the decision to be
treated at Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe. It was not an unknown place for her, her husband
had been treated at our Hospital in the past and she knew firsthand the excellence and
human warmth that characterize it.

From the very first instant, Liliana knew she was in the right place. “The doctors’ empathy
and their commitment to my wellbeing made a huge difference in my process,” voiced
Liliana. Each detailed explanation about her treatment, every gesture of support and
understanding, gave her the confidence to deal with the disease with strength and hope.
Her treatment started when the previous accelerator was still in use, it was also then when
her path began to transform. Today, almost two years after being treated, Liliana is able to
say with gratitude that her test results have never shown any metastasis. This process not
only has helped her heal, but it has also taught her the importance of trusting the treatment
and taking an active role in her recovery.

Liliana shares an inspiring message for those undergoing a similar situation: trust the
process, listen to the specialists and, most of all, keep a positive attitude. She remembers
that, inside the accelerator, there was no pain. For her, it was a space that she transformed
into a refuge of hope. She used to set her mind by thinking that each session was one more
step toward recovery.

Her story is proof that technology, when combined with human assistance and the deep
commitment of an exceptional medical team, can transform lives. Here at Hospital Pablo
Tobón Uribe, Liliana found more than a treatment, she found a second chance to live her life
to the fullest.
