Many pregnant mothers and babies born during COVID 19 are threatened by strained health systems and disruptions in services due to the crisis caused by the pandemic.
The PRIDE India’s SPARSH Rural Hospital has continued to work with its full strength and dedication towards its commitment to Maternal and Child health care even during this COVID 19 crisis.
Due to the lockdown, as all regular transport services had been suspended and unavailable, SPARSH provided Ambulance services for the pick and drop of the ANC and PNC mothers with complete, full-fledged round the clock services and medical treatment.
While many hospitals have been converted to fully COVID hospitals, the non – COVID hospitals in the vicinity refused to provide treatment and turned away many patients including pregnant mothers due to the risk and fear of the spread of the infection, however, SPARSH Hospital continued its work towards the service and care for the Mother and Child. During this time, the hospital has also witnessed an increase in the flow of patients by almost three folds. In the last three months, the hospital registered more than 226 ANC mothers for treatment and has conducted more than 480 successful deliveries. Bedside health awareness sessions were provided to all mothers to ensure proper care and hygiene practices are followed to avoid the infection of COVID 19.
Additionally, to curb the infection in the hospital and to ensure the safety of the mother and child in the post-natal ward, a full-body disinfectant spray system has been installed at the entry of the hospital premises for the safety of all.
The ANC and the PNC mothers and their families have thanked SPARSH Hospital and its well-wishers for providing immediate medical treatment and ensuring safety and saving the lives of the mother and child.
