The needs of our people and our communities are at the heart of what we do. Therefore, we do all it takes to create a meaningful impact. The SPARSH rural hospital reaches out to over 190 remote villages and conducts special health camps and multi-diagnostic health camps for the rural communities to access quality healthcare services, as well as acknowledge the disease prone areas and create awareness on its preventive measures. SPARSH invites medical specialists to diagnose and treat special cases.
In the previous year, 17 health camps were conducted across 13 villages emphasizing on the importance of health diagnosis, treatment and precautionary measures. We reached out to more than 1241 individuals in remote villages through 7 dental camps, 6 pediatric camps, 2 eye camps and 2 cancer screening camps.
A Deformity correction camp had also been held in order to address the needs of children with musculoskeletal deformities that occur due to nutritional deficiencies or congenial birth defects. Two such correction camps were organized at SPARSH rural hospital. Around 185 children were screened during the camp and 21 surgical procedures were conducted. These camps were held with the support received from Rotary Club (London), Rotary Club (Ambernath) and Saraswati Paristhan (Chembur) by a team of 14 doctors led by Dr. John Clegh and Dr. Mayuresh Warke.
