Dear Friends and Supporters,
I recently returned from a five-week visit to Roko 20 Academy in February, and I’m filled with gratitude and pride as I share some wonderful progress, all made possible by your support.
A Family Beyond the Classroom
What touched me most was the strong sense of family among our boarding students. Under the guidance of our dedicated matron, the children work together harmoniously with cooking, cleaning, and caring for the school grounds and animals. Evenings are spent eating together and sharing quiet time before bed. This nurturing environment has helped our students develop confidence, responsibility, and deep emotional bonds, something many of them had never known before.
Learning, Growing, Thriving
Our Learning Support Programme has made impressive strides. It provides personalised attention to students who need help with reading and writing, using engaging tools like educational games, books, and videos in a vibrant, supportive classroom. The progress has been remarkable, and it’s opening new doors for many of our learners.
Beyond Books: Building Confidence and Character
Thanks to expanded extracurricular activities, our pupils are thriving outside the classroom too. Games like chess and scrabble have become popular, with some students even qualifying for national chess tournaments! We’re also proud of our two male teachers, who are offering mentorship and guidance to our boys, something that’s rare but much needed in rural schools.
More Than a School
Roko 20 has become a true haven, a place where vulnerable children are nurtured in every way. They arrive having experienced neglect, but they grow into confident, caring individuals with a sense of purpose and belonging. This transformation is only possible because of you.
Thank you for standing with us and for being part of this journey. Your support is not just changing lives, it’s shaping futures.
With heartfelt thanks,
