On 13/09/2020, NDES foundation held its annual back to school program where we provided didactic materials to the orphans at the Teleola Martha foundation in Buea, Cameroon thanks to the money raised on the GlobalGiving platfrom.
Although our initial fund raising goal of $1200 to assist 80 orphans was not attained, the $149 raised created an enormous impact by providing 16 orphans with backpacks and all the school supplies including books, pens, pencils, rulers etc. needed for the upcoming academic year 2020/2021.
The foundation also dipped into its personal finances to award scholarships to some of these orphans which will cover their school fees for the upcoming academic year.
We are so delighted by the impact this project has had so far on the lives of these precious children. During the handing over ceremony, it was very fulfiling and satisfying to see the excitement and joy emanated on the faces of these children.
It goes without saying that any future donations will go a long way to assist many more of these orphans and if possible reach our initial target of 80 orphans.
On behalf of all these kids you made smile with hope, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all our donors. We remain open for future partnerships.
