Dear HOPE Supporter,
Recently, HOPE was fortunate enough to be able to help the Rohingya Refugees Mother opening a Health Camp in the Camps. which are essential for a safe and sanitary birth for both the mother and child. These kits are particularly helpful in settings where there is no skilled attendant present, but are also useful in remote, rural hospitals such as HOPE Hospital. Here at HOPE, we are aware that many mothers will not come to the hospital for delivery or have a skilled professional in attendance at their birth. This is unfortunate, however, we are realistic and know that many mothers are still delivering at home. That being said, we are asking mothers who are delivering at our hospital to help us spread the message. We are using the clean birth kits at the hospital during deliveries so the mother can see the benefits of the kits, and then asking the mother to take a kit back to her community to show other mothers how it is used. We want mothers to demand for themselves a cleaner/safer birth. Word of mouth from women who delivered with the kit is the best way we know how to send the message to them. Thank you for your support in helping us provide safe delivery.
Best Regards,
Johanna Hansing
