Fondation Tous Ensemble (FONTEN) was founded in 2016 to provide long-term, professional rehabilitation services to the people of southern Haiti. Our aim is to live in a society where people with disabilities achieve full integration in community and can attain high levels of health and wellness.
We provide rehabilitation services to people with orthopedic and neurological problems. Children and adults from all over the southern regions of Haiti come to our clinic in Les Cayes for physiotherapy, occupational therapy, as well as prosthetics and orthotics services. Our mobile clinics provide remote communities with professional care. Through outreach, advocacy and education we promote equality and integration for persons with disabilities in our communities.
In June 2018, FONTEN was selected by GlobalGiving, an international NGO which vets grassroots organizations, connecting them to corporate and private sponsors all over the world. We have been authenticated by GlobalGiving and met the criteria for permanent partnership with GlobalGiving and opportunities for corporate funding, networking and increasing our capacity to provide rehabilitation to the people of southern Haiti, including about 500 children a year.
This specific project FONTEN aims to provide rehabilitation services to pediatric patients, with orthopedic, neurological, muscle skeletal conditions among others.
FONTEN have been able to provide more than 1800 sessions to children, more than 250 clubfoot attentions and more than 120 orthotics devices have been fabricated in the P&O lab.
Every month more and more children come to the center with different needs. One good example, is the case of T, she came in to clinic looking for a wheelchair, she was not able to go around her house and do her daily life activities because of her wheelchair. FONTEN is one of the only places in the south, were children and adults can find assisted devices that can help them to be more independent and have a better quality of life.
