At the end of August 2019, a new social crisis began in Haiti. For at least 3 months, the country was completely paralyzed; however, FONTEN continued to provide services to the community. Nowadays it is still difficult for patients to return to normal life, even though there are many of them who do their best to attend to their therapy sessions at the rehabilitation center.
During the months of November, December and January, 1758 sessions were performed at the clinic, with an average of 200 patients per month. 131 evaluations were performed for new patients. 88 orthotics devices and 1 new prosthesis were manufactured. The Clubfoot program has continued functioning, 56 consultations were conducted and 3 patients received achilles Tenotomy. We have also continued with our wheelchair distribution program, during these 3 months 6 wheelchairs were donatedfor elderly people (care home) and 10 chairs for children with disabilities in an Orphanage and 9 wheelchairs were distributed at the clinic for people with disabilities in the community.
Thank you very much for your support and remember to continue helping us by sharing our campaign and / or being a recurrent donor.
