Orphans Africa believes all children in the world should be able to get regular meals to keep them healthy. They need nutricious meals, including milk, to be able to concentrate in school. Due to persistent rural poverty, drought, food shortages and lack of available milk, it is difficult to source milk for the orphan students. Having dairy cows allows a consistent source of this necessary nutrition.
These milk cows provide milk, and in addition, provide manure to be able to create a bio-gas system. A bio-gas system for cooking will help reduce the smoke and pollution from cooking with wood and charcoal. Orphans Africa is working towards a greener earth friendly system for cooking at our schools.
