We gladly wave goodbye to the summer heat and welcome the cool, brisk days of Autumn ahead, but not without first reflecting on the past few months.
Because of your contribution, in the past three months, our first Benevolence Farm residents have hit major milestones. Missy and Keia both transitioned from the farm, Missy obtaining full-time employment in her career of interest and Keia getting accepted into the dental assistant program of her choice. With these changes, Brooke has taken on new leadership at the farm, helping us successfully complete our summer CSA, supporting new residents - all while balancing her new job as a resident advocate at Family Abuse Services in Alamance County.
Through our Community Supported Agriculture program, we delivered 3,000 lbs of produce to 45 individuals in Burlington, Graham, Elon, Carrboro, Durham, and Chapel Hill this summer. Residents and staff made weekly deliveries, allowing us to foster relationships with our members and gather helpful feedback for the Fall season. Thanks to all our members for making it a successful season.
Whether you are also pruning your beets or simply getting your flannels out of storage, we wish you a smooth transition into the coming seasons.
Thank you for your continued support of second chances!
