A Year in Review

As we conclude the year, we reflect on all that has been accomplished.  It has been a year of immense enlightenment and reckoning around the world and also here at Benevolence.  In the face of the challenges, we have witnessed immense growth and transformation, discovering new sources of strength, resilience and compassion to better serve women transitioning from our North Carolina state prisons.

Exactly a year ago, Benevolence embarked on a new chapter of our existance, when we welcomed our first resident. This spring, two other women put down roots in our soil and during the hot summer, a fourth woman transplanted her life to our farm. As the weather turns cold once again, our fifth resident, an Alamance County native, joins our growing Benevolence family, planting seeds for a new beginning.

These women have paved the way and have set the bar high for those to come with the enormous strides they have made - obtaining career certifications, being admitted to university programs, gaining scholarships, growing our farm business, celebrating major sobriety milestones, reconnecting with family and launching their careers. These five women touched each of our hearts and brought the Benevolence vision to life in 2017.

YOU made these successes possible.  Thank you for being a part of their journey and ours.  We look forward to continuing to share our collective growth in the coming year.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year in 2018!
