The HUG Project was asked to help with an online exploitation case that was recently ruled as a human trafficking case. Tina* was 8-years-old when her mother started exploiting her online. Tina’s mother took inappropriate pictures and videos of her to send to a man in the U.S. The child sexual abuse images (child pornography) of Tina were sold and Tina’s mother kept the money from her images.
When our team heard about the case, we immediately provided assistance to ensure the safety of Tina. HUG helped with planning the operation, participated in searching the home where Tina’s images were taken, assisted with the rescue of Tina, and made sure Tina immediately had the proper mental health support. At first, Tina was confused and hurt by her mother’s actions. Our team provided reassurance and ensured Tina was brought to a safe location. The case is ongoing so we cannot share many details. However, we are grateful for your donation and support so that we could quickly join the case and help the police with Tina’s rescue. Thank you again for supporting the HUG Project.
