Our efforts to empower refugee households to produce their own food while earning income from the sale of extra produce continues to grow with financial support from most reliable donor-Go Campaign. In March 2024, we were able equip to 130 vulnerable refugee youths with relevant skills and tools for vegetable production. Besides facilitating trainings on good farming practices, each of the beneficiaries walked away with an assortment of farming inputs including Hand Held Hoes, Pangas, Watering Cans, vegetebale seeds of their choices and pair of gumboots.
One of the beneficiary with disability (James), could not hide his excitment after receiving the tools. He had this to say 'These tools and the skill I have received are my saviour now, I and my entire household will not die of hunger and poverty any more. I picked Tomatoes and Onions because I know with those vegetables I can earn a lot of money while having enough to eat. I thank Voice for Humanity Uganda for always thinking about vulnerable youth with disabilities like me who are always ignored and despised in the community'.
Every dollar counts in our efforts to serve vulnerable young people. In 2024, we aim to support 250 youth with farming skills and tools. On our own we cannot achieve our goals, any amount you give takes us closer to ensuring a world free of hunger, malnutrition and disease.
Thank you for your continued believe and support in our vision.
