REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL - JUNE :
Introduction
The new term began on 3rd May, 2018 for the 442 students.
NEW CURRICULUM
With the introduction of the new curriculum 3 teachers and the were able to attend a training facilitated by Kenya Primary Private Schools on the usage of the new books in the market which will support in the facilitation of the new curriculum. The teachers are now more knowledgable on the usage of the new curriculum/books.
High Scholars
These are high school leavers who are sponsored by Little Rock, at the completion of their high schooling they give back to Little Rock as they await to go to college and the university, this year we have 8 of them supporting teachers in their classes as assistant teachers.
Volunteers/Interns: We have 8 volunteers/interns from different Colleges/Organizations and High School leavers who have come to Little Rock to support and assist the children, as a community service venture.
They have been assisting the teachers in their classes; they take them out for sports and give support in the kitchen either by cooking or cleaning up.
16 Children with disability Little Rock attended the National Museums day for persons with Disability.
TRAININGS
1.Care givers and Nannies Training
Which was attended by 30 Parents of the Special Needs Children and cleaners from Little Rock. The topic was on Behaviour Management for the special Child
2. One of our teachers was able to attend a Music training in preparation of the Kenya National Music Festival.
3. 15 Pre-School children attended a Cub scouts training where they earned badges and certificates.
4. 24 Teachers attended a training on how to Build a Positive Relationship between the teacher and the child.
CHALLENGE
The major challenge we have is high demand of enrollment of children with special needs these means we need more resources to enable us to employ more teachers, buy more learning materials and to have more buildings.
