Bread of Life: A New Hope for Gaza's Orphaned Children

By muhammed deebeh | project leader

Dear Donor,

No one is unaware of the scale of the humanitarian tragedy experienced by the residents of Gaza for over two years. The wars and ongoing blockade have deepened the wounds and created an unbearable reality. With a lack of food and basic services, families in Gaza live under heartbreaking conditions, searching daily for a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness of oppression and suffering.

Today, we bring you one of the stories that profoundly touched our team during field visits. Seven children—Haneen, Fatima, Ahmed, Khaled, and their cousins Lamis, Amal, and Layla—now live in Masqat Camp in northern Gaza after losing their parents during the last devastating assault. These children are now cared for by their two elderly grandmothers, who can barely meet their minimum needs, as they all face the harshness of life and the pain of loss together.

Thanks to your generous support, we were able to provide bread for these children. This bread wasn’t just food; it was a lifeline that restored a sense of safety and stability for them. Watching them eat with eagerness, despite everything they have endured, was a moment filled with profound meaning and deep humanitarian messages.

Bread is not merely a food item but a source of life and dignity. Providing bread to these children is a true rescue from hunger and a means to ensure their physical and emotional growth continues naturally. It gives them a sense of care and belonging, allowing them to focus on education and interaction with their peers instead of worrying about their next meal.

This assistance plants hope in the hearts of these children and gives them the strength to face life’s challenges, especially after losing their parents and enduring harsh living conditions. Every loaf of bread they receive is a message of love and care from you.

Supporting the bread distribution project is not just about feeding the hungry; it’s about building a bridge of hope and compassion between you and the affected families. Continuing this project ensures that children and needy families are provided with one of their most basic human rights: food. It also has a far-reaching impact on psychological and societal stability, as it reassures the needy that they are not alone in facing this ordeal.

With your continued support, we can reach more families silently suffering, helping to ease their pain and support their resilience in the face of dire circumstances.

On behalf of the children whose lives you have saved, on behalf of the grandmothers upon whom you have bestowed mercy, and on behalf of everyone who has felt the tangible impact of your support, we extend our deepest gratitude. You are the reason behind the smiles we’ve seen and the hope we’ve felt in the children’s eyes.

We are confident that you are our partners in this humanitarian journey, and together, we can make a real difference. Thank you for your generosity, and we hope to continue this noble mission with you.

With sincere appreciation,
