Last month, our team received a referral through our infant formula program regarding a mother of three small children who had experienced severe domestic violence. Her husband had beaten her so brutally with his combat boots that her skull was fractured. We immediately provided the family with ample formula for her baby and milk and food for her other children to ensure they had the nutrition they needed in the coming months, but that was only the beginning of the kind of support the family needed. When her local resource center did not offer the legally mandated protection she needed, we reached out to one of our key partners in an official position to request support for the situation. Within 30 minutes, we were able to secure the necessary resources for the mother and her children’s safety and they continue to receive the support they deserve today. We are grateful for the support our network has provided and for the positive impact of these connections in protecting vulnerable families.
