Over the last couple months our team has been busy organizing formula deliveries to families all over our region. Since we were still under pandemic restrictions, we had to ask special permission to run this program from the government. Not only did we receive permission, but they also promoted it and helped us filter the applicants so the families who needed formula the most would receive it. The governor officially launched our program and we even had a member of the Prime Minister's Cabinet stop by to promote our program while he was in the province on other business.
The network of health workers we've developed over the years has also proved to be a huge benefit to this program. They work in some of the more remote areas and know families in need that we never would have found on our own. Thanks to this campaign and local donations, so far we've provided at least one month of formula to about 300 families! Using other funding we've received outside of this program, we've also been able to deliver masks and food to many of these families who are temporarily without employment due to the pandemic.
