Challenge

The ongoing conflict in Ethiopia has caused widespread destruction of livelihoods, agricultural productivity, and property. It has also placed endemic species, such as the Gelada monkey, at greater risk of extinction. Habitat loss, driven by agricultural expansion, livestock grazing, and human encroachment, has further endangered these animals. As a result, the Gelada, native to the Ethiopian Highlands, is now on the brink of extinction.

It also conduct training for local communities&awareness campaigns on the importance of conserving the Gelada monkey native to Ethiopian. It will train 30 rangers&law enforcement officers, establish a wildlife veterinary clinic, relocate 100 illegal settlers with housing&livelihood support, and implement surveillance system &vehicles for improved protection

Long-Term Impact

The protection and preservation of the Gelada monkey, native to the Ethiopian Highlands, are essential not only for the species but also for the overall health of Ethiopia's unique ecosystems. This project seeks to ensure a sustainable future where the Gelada thrives, promoting a harmonious coexistence between wildlife and local communities. With the necessary funding and support, we can take vital steps to safeguard the Gelada monkey and protect its natural habitat for generations to come.
