Covid 19 is affecting communities across the globe. The pandemic has put enormous strain on vulnerable communities. For around one million kids with Cleft in India, this is a highly challenging time. Born with a condition that affects nutrition, they are very susceptible to infections. The pandemic has reduced family income for the families, which means lower food for these babies who need special care. This project addresses the core issue, i.e. NUTRITION FOR THESE KIDS WHO NEED SPECIAL CARE
These are challenging times for children born with Cleft. These children with gaps in their lips or palates or many times both, face difficulty in feeding. As their impoverished families deal with reduced family income, adequate nutrition for these babies is becoming a huge challenge. Reduced nutrition can lead to low immunity for these vulnerable kids. With no vaccination on the horizon, they need to remain safe from Covid as well as wait for their surgery. YOUR GIFT WOULD BE A LIFESAVER.
Nutrition has always been a part of our comprehensive care for these kids. But, in the current scenario, the need for nutrition is enormous. With hospitals occupied with Covid care, the wait time for receiving surgery has increased. The malnourished children with Cleft enrolled in the program need prolonged care and nutrition before receiving their surgery. The family of some of these kids are finding difficult to feed themselves. OUR PLAN IS TO PROVIDE EXTENDED NUTRITION TO 500 CLEFT KIDS.
YOUR GIFT WILL MAKE A LASTING DIFFERENCE. Adequate nutrition will help these kids with better immunity to face the pandemic. Immunity is an essential weapon for these kids against COVID. Nutritional care will provide regular follow and interventions to monitor the child's growth as the kids wait for their Cleft corrective care. Adequate nutrition will help these kids gain the desired weight required to receive their surgeries when the surgery begins. YOUR GIFT HELPS ENSURE THE KIDS WITH A BETTER
